Kratom is one of the most effective and pleasurable psychoactive herbs

Kratom, Krathom, Ithang, Kakuam or Thom. Kratom refers to the plant
Mitragyna speciosa Korth. An extremely rare tree from Thailand
and Malaysia. The Mitragyna tree is in the same family as the coffee
tree (Rubiaceae). Over 25 alkaloids have been isolated from Kratom;
the principle one being mitragynine, an indole alkaloid superficially
resembling yohimbine and also somewhat related to psilocybin and LSD.
Kratom is widely known throughout Southeast Asia as a mild intoxicant
(in the same general category as nicotine, caffeine, betel nut, etc.)
The leaves of kratom have been known as an herbal medicine from time
immemorial by peoples of Southeast Asia. Kratom was first mentioned
in Western herbal literature by Low in 1836.
Traditional use: chewing, tea or smoking. It is usually taken as a tea in
doses less than 3 - 5 gram, depending the potency of the leaves.
